Karen has a Masters degree in Gerontology, Social Work and Therapeutic Recreation from Ohio State University. She is also a certified Grief Recovery Specialist and in June of 2007 completed post graduate certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, through Columbia University, as a Holistic Health Counselor. She completed additional post graduate work to become a Certified Natural Healthcare Professional. She has worked in human services for over 35 years. Karen now lives in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, with her fiancée, Dr. Tim Hendlin, who is a holistic physician and chiropractor.
