Valentine's Day is a wonderful day to stop and take some inventory of your emotional wellbeing.  Whether you are in a relationship or experiencing the 14th solo this year, Valentine's Day is a great time of year to fully indulge in some quality pampering and heartfelt expressions of creativity, and to feed your soul so that you may be able to truly spread the love to others in the deepest and most authentic way possible.
            Here are a few tips to get yourself in the mood for some major self-love.  Whether it is a total emotional overhaul you are looking for, or just a refinement of habits of nurturing and compassion, these activities will have your creative impulses sparkling and your heart thumping in no time.
           
 Number one
: 
Create and maintain a foundation of impenetrable belief in yourself.
            This involves spending some time going over the things that really bring some fire into your life.  What makes you excited to wake up in the morning?  Brew a cup of tea and put the pen to paper on this one.  Medicaldaily.com says studies show that the actual act of writing creates synapses in the brain leading to better memory and in this case, the habits you are trying to build have a better chance of sticking long term.  Once you have established the things that inspire passion, follow them.  Figure out a routine that will allow you to access this place of inspiration quite regularly and take solid action based on the things you are excited by.  Allow this consistency of excitement for life to build a foundation of belief that you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to.  Allow loved ones, friends, and family to support you in this endeavor.  Vocalize your goals and take steps towards truly making your dreams a reality.
 
Number two:  Notice the small wonders and fortuitous mishaps.
            If you can sit down with this one as well it is really helpful, but not entirely necessary.  Simply notice the things going right for throughout your days!  Sometimes when things seem to go wrong, they are actually leading to more magical occurrences that are for your benefit.  This can be a tricky mindset to consistently achieve, especially when life is good at throwing curveballs, but it truly pays off in the long run.  You will find it is easier to smile through difficult situations, and you never know, that smile may invite interactions with people who are directly aligned with the path and goals you are focused on.
 
Number three: Do ten nice things for yourself.
            Starting today (Valentine's Day!) make it a habit to do ten nice things for yourself a week.  Block them into one day or spread them out, but at the beginning of every week, think of ten truly special things you can do for yourself.  Whether it is taking mood boosting supplements like Green Tea Extract or 5-Hydroxytrytophan,  buying yourself flowers, taking yourself out to your favorite coffee shop, watching a funny movie, leaving sweet messages in drawers where they will surprise you, practicing positive thoughts, listing attributes about yourself you really love, writing a love letter to yourself, or just taking time to relax if you have a really busy schedule, all of these things will promote a positive attitude in your daily life, thus allowing you to engage more deeply and responsively to the people you really love.  It can also be helpful to invest in holistic healing methods such as 
essential oil baths
 or massages.  I will be writing more on my profoundly inspiring and healing experiences with these in future posts, so stay tuned!
 
Try these activities out for a couple of weeks and regularly check in to see how they may be impacting your habits and goals.  If you stay dedicated with any positive change, you will see results, so more than anything, find what works for you and stick with it.  This can be rewarding in more ways than one, and hopefully will deepen that special magic normally reserved only for Valentine's Day!
